Leading into the Kraft Nabisco...

Well, the Kraft Nabisco is making news before it even starts.

Shanshan Feng, Helen Alfredssen, and Maria Hjorth have all been "withdrawn" from the tournament (not officially DQ'ed as I'm writing this). Feng was late for the pro-am, and the other two players were called as alternates to the pro-am but couldn't be reached. They won't be replaced. Randall Mell's article is here.

Juli Inkster receives 2010 Patty Berg AwardOther LPGA players also made the news:

Word is that Paula Creamer had thumb surgery on Tuesday. Her doctor says he expects her to be back "soon," but apparently no timeframe has been given. You can see the original article (also Randall Mell's) here.

And Juli Inkster was awarded the Patty Berg Award on Wednesday. You might equate it to the PGA's Payne Stewart Award. The LPGA.com announcement is here. (I borrowed the image from the article posted at LPGA.com; I hope they don't mind.)

And the tournament hasn't even started yet...
