I imagine it's especially satisfying to him because he had a double-bogey on the par-5 7th during the first round -- something he doesn't do very often -- that put him +4 for the round. Then the weather turned a bit nasty during the second round and players struggled.
Tom shot even par on Friday, finished his round on the number, and then watched as the cut moved yet another stroke out to +5. And given that only six players are better than -2 after two days -- and most of the field far younger than him -- he hasn't played badly at all.
By the way, he's now 18 for 18 making the cut in the Senior OPEN. And he's only a month short of 70 years old.
What else can I say? The man is a legend for a reason.
