With all the technology available today, why doesn't somebody put a tracking microchip inside a golf ball? Apparently someone did and Rick Shiels decided to test it. Before you ask, it's pretty clear the people who did it have no idea what makes a golf ball playable; as Rick points out, this thing is a failure as a golf ball. But beyond that, he's more interested to know if the tech actually works. Consider this a "state of the art" report about the practicality of the idea should a big name golf ball manufacturer decided to try it.
