When I saw this video from Russell Heritage describing how your lead hip moves in the downswing, I was struck at how much it sounded like the classic instruction to straighten your lead leg. The drill he uses to teach this move is a little extreme -- he does say you need to adjust it to fit your abilities -- but most drills do exaggerate the feel they're trying to teach, expecting your actual move to be a bit less dramatic. To me it seems a great way to learn proper rotation that maintains your spine angle AND creates forward shaft lean without excess hand manipulation. Give it a try and see what you think!
