This short video from Russell Heritage talks about something that's hard for many players -- that is, learning when something you're taught as a fundamental really doesn't work with your body. How do you determine whether you should change or not? Russell talks about three 'fundamentals' that don't always help a player, and how to find out (through practice) if you need to 'relax your fundamentals' a bit.
Note that Russell isn't talking about ignoring fundamentals, just not being quite so rigid with them. It's a fine line but it's worth exploring if you really want a better swing that's repeatable for you.
