Although GC won't be carrying the PGA Championship -- that task belongs to ESPN and CBS this week -- they will be carrying the Pure Silk Championship for the LPGA.
Since the Pure Silk was cancelled last year -- familiar story, right? -- Bronte Law will be defending her 2019 title, which was her first (and currently only) LPGA win. The event will return to the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg VA, a venue that has hosted both PGA and LPGA tournaments.
And there will be spectators at the event, albeit a reduced number from the usual crowd -- 5000 fans per day.
While there will be a pretty strong field, probably the biggest attention getter will be Paula Creamer, teeing it up for the first time since October 2019. The good news here is that the Pink Panther finally seems to be healthy. She says the thumb she injured way back in 2010 and the wrist surgery she had back in 2017 finally had time to heal and she is pain-free for the first time in ten years.
At any rate, while ESPN televises the PGA, GC's coverage of the LPGA begins today at 3pm ET. Kingsmill is a beautiful resort located near historic Williamsburg (the former capital of 18th Century Virginia and a huge tourist attraction) so, if the seaside dunes of Kiawah Island aren't to your taste, you're in luck.
