The LPGA Tees Off in Hawaii

After a week break from the Chevron Championship, the LPGA heads to Oahu for the LOTTE Championship.

Defending champion Lydia Ko

This is the tenth anniversary of the LOTTE Championship, and it starts a three-week stretch of golf that moves from Hawaii to California. The field is usually pretty good; by my count there are seven of the Top10 of the Race to the CME Globe. (Not Nelly Korda; she's still recovering from her surgery.) But defending champion Lydia Ko is playing, as is Brooke Henderson, the only two-time winner of this event.

The biggest thing I wanted to mention is a reminder: The LOTTE is played on Wednesday thru Saturday, so the first round starts TONIGHT (Wednesday) on GC at 7pm ET. Yes, we get more prime time golf! This event always crowns a great player as champion and it tends to set that player on course for a strong year, so this version shouldn't be any different.
