It's a busy week in golf. I've covered three events so far and still haven't done the PGA Tour's alternate field event, the Barbasol Championship. Well, let's fix that today.
Here's the quick lowdown:
- The event is played just south of Lexington, Kentucky.
- The Keene Trace Golf Club is a 7328 yard par-72 course.
- This is a co-sponsored event between the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour. It's the first time for that arrangement.
- If not already qualified, the winner grabs a spot at THE OPEN.
- The defending champion is Seamus Power.
And since one round is already in the books, I should add that Canadian Adam Svensson shot 10-under 62 to lead after the first round.
GC's live coverage for Friday starts at 4pm ET. The field looks to be pretty strong for an alternate field event, so you might want to take a peek at the action.
