The Champions are back from Scotland and headed for Canada and the Shaw Charity Classic.
Calgary hosts this week's event at the Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club. The most interesting thing about this course is its elevation -- it's 4000 feet above sea level. That means the ball is gonna travel, folks. And since the course is only 7086 yards and par-70, and the event is only 54 holes, that means scores will probably be low.
At least as long as the guys can allow for the altitude. Doug Barron won at -18 last year.
Jerry Kelly is arguably the hottest player in the field, with two wins in his last 5 starts, but a lot of the other players are in pretty good form right now and, after a week's rest from the Senior OPEN, they should all be ready to go.
GC's coverage starts Friday at 9:30pm ET. (Yes, it looks like we're getting taped coverage this week.) But at least that means it won't be a choice between the Champions and the Ladies, as the AIG Women's Open is on USA.
