Around the wider world of golf: Maja Stark and Ewen Ferguson won their respective fields at the ISPS Handa World Invitational, co-sponsored by the DP World Tour, LET and LPGA; Miguel Ángel Jiménez won the Boeing Classic on the Champions Tour; Robby Shelton won the Pinnacle Bank Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour; Yan Liu won the Four Winds Invitational on the Epson Tour; Saki Baba won the US Women's Amateur; Nitithorn Thippong won the International Series Singapore on the Asian Tour; Yonggu Shin won the KPGA's Woosung Construction Open; So Young Lee won the KLPGA's Dayouwinia MBN Ladies Open; and Chisato Iwai won the JLPGA's NEC Karuizawa 72 Golf Tournament. [Thanks, IC!]
Another disappointing week for my Twofer Tuesday picks. I had Rory McIlroy (MC) and Patrick Cantlay (T57). Oh, well...
- Top10s: 23 for 86 (15 Top5, 8 Top10)
- Winners: 3 for 42
- Top20s: 36 for 86
It was perhaps the wildest scene ever in a playoff. Will Zalatoris's golf ball barely carried the water on the 151-yard, par-3 11th at TPC Southwind -- the third playoff hole between him and Sepp Straka. The ball bounced off the bank then bounced half a dozen more times on the rock wall separating the green from the water... and then, instead of ending up in the water, it settled between the wall and the grass.

Then after Straka put his ball in the water, Zalatoris took a drop in the drop circle, hit a long wedge shot to 7 feet and knocked in the bogey putt for his first PGA Tour win.
He's certainly been building up to this for a while. Three runner-ups in majors punctuated a strong two-year run up to this point. There's not much more I need to say, except...
Enjoy your first-ever Limerick Summary, Will. I doubt it will be your last!
His run to the top finally run,
His first win on Tour finally won,
Will Z gets his prize
And continues, his eyes
Set on East Lake. I don’t think he’s done!
