Twofer Tuesday: QBE Shootout

Twofer Tuesday continues to hit the Resort Circuit and pad its stats at the QBE Shootout.

Defending champs Jason Kokrak and Kevin Na

Last week the Bahamas, this week Florida and another limited field — this time it's 12 teams. But it's the last time we'll be seeing that — in case you missed it, next year the QBE will become a mixed field event like the old JC Penney Classic. That's one man/one woman teams competing in the different formats each round. That's worth looking forward to!

But this year it's an excellent chance for me to pad my stats — with only 12 teams, the odds of my getting two Top10 picks is pretty good.

I should note that last year's winning team of Jason Kokrak and Kevin Na won't be defending because they're both LIV golfers now. That means we're gonna have a new pair of champions this year... and if it's one of the mixed teams in this year's event, I suspect we'll see them defending next year.

The fact is, I think any team has a good chance of taking home the trophy. Team events like this are less about form and more about attitude and cooperation. But surely some teams have an advantage... and I'm guessing at who they are.

  • Harris English & Matt Kuchar
  • Steve Stricker & Cameron Young

GC and Peacock will have live opening round coverage at 1pm ET on Friday. Like most December golf events, this is more about "feel good and have fun" than anything else because there are no world ranking points or anything else but pride on the line. But you NEVER want to underestimate the power of pride in the game of golf!
