The LPGA continues their NA swing at the AmazingCre Portland Classic, the Tour’s longest-running non-major competition.
The Portland Classic was first played way back in 1972, and it has a long and legendary roster of winners. The defending champion, Jin Young Ko, has to skip her defense because of a wrist injury that's expected to sideline her until October 20. But a number of other winners are there, including 2020 winner Georgia Hall, the last woman to win at the Columbia Edgewater Country Club where the event will be played this year.
I should note that the Columbia Edgewater Country Club is the primary venue for this event, having hosted it over 30 times. The ladies will feel very comfortable there.
GC's live coverage begins Thursday at 3pm ET. Because Portland is on the West Coast, this will be early round coverage, before the PGA Tour's Fortinet Championship coverage. It's a good chance for many of you who normally have to work during weekday golf to get a full schedule in before the weekend!
